Updated bugs section thanks to Gerb!
DaMarsMan — Fri, 08/06/2010 - 16:31
Attention all DQ Translations fans. We now have a bugs section dedicated to solving issues with our translations.
FORUMS SHOULD NO LONGER BE USED FOR BUG REPORTS!
Here are the rules...
-Upload a screenshot if applicable
-Upload a savestate if applicable
-Report the MD5 of your ISO if it's a CD based translation or it will be ignored
-Submit a detailed report of how to trigger the bug
The project pages have also been converted to a more dynamic format and it should allow us to easily add projects as we take them on.
Thanks and have fun!
Updated team page with bios!

Dragon Quest 5 (PS2) version 1.2 patch is up!
Tom-Servo — Tue, 06/29/2010 - 21:51
Grab it from the projects page! I'll make a more in depth post about the release, but for now I'll put a few bullet points:
1. 1.1 and 1.0 is no longer supported.
2. Each patch archive lists the final MD5sum you should get after expanding and applying the ppf patch. Make sure these match before reporting issues. The MD5sum given after expanding is not the MDsum to verify against. Be sure to burn at 4x or 2x speeds using DVD-R media. Not doing so may cause skips.
3. Included a translated version of the original DQ5 PS2 manual.
4. Open PS2 Loader Project - v0.7 can play the game on a PS2 over your local network. PSS videos are laggy but actual gameplay is faster than DVD-R media. This method requires extensive setup.
Dragon Quest 5 (PS2) version 1.2 patch available soon!
Tom-Servo — Wed, 05/26/2010 - 20:41
The new patch has plenty of bug and script fixes. There won't be any need to apply hot fixes to avoid crashing, but be sure to properly apply the patch to a cleanly expanded ISO.
As of now we are no longer supporting version 1.1, so if you are having issues with this version please wait for v1.2. Thanks!
Just waiting on getting the manual done...
Forum registrations should be working

Dragon Quest 5 (PS2) version 1.1 Hot Fixes
Tom-Servo — Thu, 02/25/2010 - 10:50
Current hot fix 1.1 rar version 004 - 3/02/10
If you are having crashing issues on a real PS2 please calculate/post the MD5sum of your ISO, the style (DW/DQ), and if you have debug mode turned on. Thanks!
Dragon Quest 5 (PS2) version 1.1 patch is up!
Tom-Servo — Thu, 02/18/2010 - 12:51
First thing to do is to delete your version 1.0 ISO. The 1.1 patch can not be applied to the 1.0 ISO. You must use the expander to make another clean iso then apply the patch.
There is a small issue with character titles that slipped through the cracks. The following fixes character titles. Not a critical issue but here is the hotfix.

Dragon Quest 5 (PS2) version 1.1 patch coming soon
Tom-Servo — Thu, 02/18/2010 - 12:51
The patch will contain all the main script changes we have made since release and of course all of the hot fixes and more. It also will include a Borongo/ect fix that works 100% (Found out the initial fix only kinda works) and more plural support.
When version 1.1 is released 1.0 will no longer be supported. There will be more hot fixes to come but they will be more and more minor.

DQ Translations is proud to present our Dragon Quest 5 English Translation Patch v1.0. Everything you need to know you can find in the readme included with the patch.
DQ Translations would like to thank all the committed fans that have loved this series despite the unfair treatment it has received in the past. Just like you, we waited until, "Eh, maybe next year." turned into, "Aw, come on!" After all that hoping, waiting, and even begging the Square Enix representatives on Slime Knights, it’s finally here.
Many of us have spent countless hours working on this project while juggling jobs and school. We hope that the effort we put in will help make this game a memorable experience for you! Don’t forget to stop by our forums to chat with other members about the translation or the series.
